Humans Deserve Better Trilogy

Powerful change happens when enough humans live determined.

  • Manifesto Rule No. 24

ENTREPRENEURSHIP ISN’T A TRAVEL GUIDE TO FOLLOW. IT’S AN ADVENTURE TO UNDERTAKE.

  • Manifesto Rule No. 1

When in doubt – call someone who truly, unconditionally loves you.

  • Manifesto Rule No. 2

Stop at nothing to achieve everything the universe has to offer.

  • Manifesto Rule No. 3

When feeling huffy: – Step back, Be a teacher, Take a deep breath, Smile and realize this too shall pass as just a glimmer within a lifetime of happiness.

FACT: THE BIGGEST OPPORTUNITIES
FOR SUCCESS ARE A BYPRODUCT OF BEING THE EXCEPTION, INSTEAD OF THE RULE.

Hi! I am Gary, the futurist of now.

As we open up the first few decades of a new century, my contribution lies in helping humans understand where the world is going and why. I speak the language of a smarter future, but I am firmly grounded in the reality of now.

Everything I do is driven by one fundamental audacious belief, which is….

2

A single incident in my childhood – seeing a homeless man begging on the streets – started my lifelong quest to create access and opportunities for every single person on Planet Earth. You may think that is an impossible task. I love the challenge!

I connect complex puzzle pieces together around the world using the art and science of innovation. Then I help build platforms across cities and countries and continents that can catapult people into the smarter, better future they hope for and that we envision, together.

4

When hearing the term futurist, most people respond with something like, “Wow….that is a great job title.”

Being a futurist is not a theoretical exercise in wishful thinking. The discipline is rooted in:

  • Connecting dots across history to bridge the complex impact of current global transitions.
  • Identifying emergent future trends and understanding how life will be different 50 years from now.
  • Navigating through the reality of now while grasping the demands of decades still in the making.

This is not a job or a hobby. This is a lifestyle.

I spend most of my time traveling across the globe, collecting and sharing critical information as we turn an increasingly sharp corner in our shared future.

My purpose is to understand how it ties to history, and deduce its impact on the future. I do not have a magic wand or a crystal ball, but a wealth of practical immersive experience across more than 60 countries. You could say I have earned the right to be a futurist, city by city, country by country and continent by continent.

The goal is not to validate the populist toolkit of fear, anger, despair and apathy around what the future holds. Instead, my mission is to make you uncomfortable about the here and now.

1

To disturb, disrupt, and challenge your patterns of thought and your underlying assumptions and biases about what is really happening in the world. I have witnessed and experienced the very best and worst of humanity in my travels across five continents.  And while I am not oblivious to the tsunami of change that is coming, I know that instability is what brings opportunity.

All we have to do is ride the wave and seize it.

8

That is why I design practical frameworks, models and platforms which catapult people, businesses and public sector leaders and their visions into an accelerated reality. Based on my extensive immersive experience I build launch pads, fire up the rocket fuel, and hurtle people’s ideas forward so they can make the future happen now.

With a simple, clear, and well-designed methodology for understanding the past and anticipating the future, I am fortunate to be useful to anyone interested in how to thrive in the 21st Century.

6

You’ll find me working closely with businesses – from start-ups to multi-million dollar businesses to global corporations. I also engage in the governance sphere because my model for cities, countries, and regions can shape important networked platforms, structures, and strategies. These are essential to achieve stability and justice across the world in the 21st Century.

Most of my time is spent realigning people’s goals toward “smart” future-proofed strategies for their companies, cities, states, and nations. Doing so empowers leaders to develop bridges instead of walls, which is fundamental to achieving outsized impact and the kind of creative solutions that seize opportunity in unstable times.

Our world runs on cycles, just like nature. Therefore, just like nature, we are subject to change.

7

The 21st Century will be defined by new forms of culture, process, and knowledge which create new emerging environments where resiliency and adaptability are essential if people want to thrive. History says change happens when enough humans live determined lives. This is why I believe a powerful wave of human ingenuity will transcend the impending and unprecedented convergence of economic, political, technological, environmental, cultural and social unrest.

The tsunami of global change is real. It’s happening. Are you ready for it? The best time to wake up was before. The next best time, and the last time… is right now.

Choose wisely.
